driving it like i stole it (which i didnt. but you get what i mean)

had to take a 4wd driving class for work, which is slightly comical since i dont drive on that side of the car. or road...

we were 20 min late picking up our rental truck (yeah, its not okay to destroy the company vehicle, but its totally cool to wreck rental vehicles...sorry thrifty lol). we drove for an hour to a crazy suburb called koongamia. utah needs to up their game on crazy town names, toquerville and tooele cant hang with some of these wonky aboriginal names. im told there is a town called woolloomooloo in new south wales. put THAT in your pipe and smoke it!

wow...how do i get so off track? my mind is a lot like that fish from finding nemo...

anyway, we showed up to the training almost 40 min late, and pissed off our redneck 4wd trainer. he proceeded to make fun of us for not knowing how to check brake fluid (honestly, what girl can do that?), and not knowing how to use the cb-radio (again, because so many girls use them...). turns out he was a sexist redneck 4wd trainer. but, we did get to check out some groovy terrain and i saw two emus! (totally pirated this photo, but if you havent seen one before, its worth a looksie. mostly since they are ugly as hell lol)

not going to lie, driving for my first time in australia in a manual car, on the wrong side, up crazy hills was a bit like learning to swim and being thrown into the deep end. but after i climbed in and did my first reverse-stall-start on a hill of death, i felt kind of like a badass :) check out this GREAT action shot noirin got of me lol...

had so much fun it inspired me to go down to the transport department and get my drivers license! the paperwork part of it went surprisingly fast, but i was MORTIFIED when i opened my backpack to pull out my debit card and a damn cockroach climbed out! "you know you lived in an infested cockroach house when...."

yeah, just casually swiped it off the counter and stomped on it. people have that happen all the time at the transport department right?...bet the cleaning staff liked that nice little surprise...juicy roach bits. ugh. SO glad my new house is bug free! (currently knocking on wood)

p.s. one of the best things about coming to WA in the summertime is the fresh fruit! omg ive turned into a fruit-a-holic. the strawberries are A-MAZING, just had an orange that blew my mind, and mightve eaten half a watermelon last night. it was DELICIOUS!!!

it was so juicy that i had to hover over the sink because i was practically swimming in it. if thats not classy, i dont know what is. and word on the street is that there is a kumquat tree outside the office at work!

p.s.s. this is for margie: you know that book you recommended to me? we moved into our new place and there were maybe 20 books on the entertainment center shelves, and i'll be damned if that book wasnt one of em! how random is that? starting it tonight, super excited
